Case Study: How a Mobile App Launch Got 13M+ Views With a UGC Campaign
A breakdown of the Mischief app launch — 13,070,000 verified views, 1,933 clips from 400+ creators, five clips past 1M views each and 20,000 user signups. What worked, what the numbers show, and what to copy.
On this page
Mischief is a mobile app for AI-generated image and video pranks. For its launch, the goal was simple: put the app in front of as many people as possible, from as many directions as possible, so the launch was impossible to scroll past.
We ran it as a UGC campaign: 400+ creators made original prank videos with the app, all in one format, and posted them from their own accounts across TikTok, YouTube Shorts and Instagram Reels. Here's what it produced, and what the numbers teach about how creator campaigns at volume really behave. (Want the same for your product? See UGC videos.)
The setup
Mischief's product is built for short-form video: the app generates ridiculous prank images and videos. That made it ideal for UGC, because the product demo and the entertainment were the same thing: every creator's video was both.
Creators worked from a brief that set one format and included custom bio requirements and hashtags to support conversions, and were paid per 1,000 verified views. Every clip was reviewed against the brand rules before its views counted, and Mischief had a live analytics link the whole time. The campaign went live within 48 hours of the brief being agreed.

These are five of the 1,933 clips, and you can watch them on the results page. Five clips in the campaign crossed 1M views each.
What the numbers show
1. Breakout clips carry a launch, but you can't plan which ones
Five clips crossed 1 million views each, and the biggest clip we've shown here earned 2.7 million views on its own, about a fifth of the whole campaign.
Nobody could have predicted which of the 1,933 clips would break out. The only way to get breakouts is to take enough good shots that some of them land. That's why we brief hundreds of creators, not a handful.
2. Volume is what makes a launch feel everywhere
1,933 clips from 400+ creators averaged roughly 6,800 views each. Individually that's unremarkable. Together, it means the same product showed up again and again, from different accounts, in different styles, across three platforms. That's saturation, and it's something a single brand account or a few paid ads can't do.
This is why clipping is a volume game, and why a campaign with 20 clips behaves nothing like one with 2,000.
3. Better clippers make better clips
The clips that broke out came from clippers who knew how to hook a viewer in the first second. We set rates that attract the best clippers, because top clippers choose which campaigns to work on. Higher pay means they prioritise your campaign, which means better clips and more of them. More on how campaigns are priced in our clipping cost guide.
4. TikTok led, but it wasn't the only platform
Four of the five clips above were on TikTok, and a YouTube Short reached 220K views. Running on several platforms at once meant the campaign wasn't dependent on a single algorithm.
5. Views turned into users
Every clip carried the conversion hooks from the brief: bio links and required hashtags. The launch drove 20,000 user signups.
What the client said
Super great experience, we got a live link with analytics as the views were being generated. We were able to add custom bio requirements and hashtags that our videos required to keep up with conversions and the content was vetted and kept on brand. Thank you ClipMansion

What to copy from this campaign
- Lead with the product in action. Show what the product does in a way that's entertaining on its own — not a feature list.
- Go wide. Thousands of clips from hundreds of creators beat a handful of perfect ones. Let the algorithm find the winners.
- Pay enough to get the best clippers. Top clippers pick the campaigns that pay. Their clips are the ones that break out.
- Require conversion hooks. Bio links and hashtags on every clip turn views into signups.
- Review everything. Volume only works if every clip stays on-brand.
